Grammy-Nominated Band NEEDTOBREATHE Have a New single! ‘What I’m Here For’
Grammy-nominated band NEEDTOBREATHE and their new single ‘What I’m Here For’, the latest track to be taken from their upcoming album Into The Mystery out July 30th via Elektra Records. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the track and I was wondering if you’d consider including it in any of your upcoming coverage?
Into The Mystery is the band’s eighth record and sees them exploring their country influences to favour a more intimate sound than previously found on their anthemic critically acclaimed album Out Of Body released last year. That new approach is something that ‘What I’m Here For’ showcases perfectly - a delicate and emotive lullaby bursting with luscious acoustic guitars, elegant strings and beautiful, heart-warming vocals.
The new album features high profile collaborations including seven-time Grammy-winning Carrie Underwood who appears on recent single ‘I Wanna Remember’. NEEDTOBREATHE and Carrie Underwood will be performing the track live together at the forthcoming CMT Music Awards 2021 tonight (June 9th). The album also features Jon Foreman of Switchfoot and Natalie Hemby of The Highwomen.
The past 12 months represent one of the most prolific periods in NEEDTOBREATHE’s career so far. They recently unveiled Live from the Woods Vol. 2 — a live album recorded during three sold out, socially distanced outdoor shows, while their studio album Out of Body debuted in the Top 5 across three Billboard charts.
The new album Into The Mystery was written in three weeks when the band decamped to an old historic house in Columbia, Tennessee and lived together to create the record in the autumn of 2020. The whole process has been filmed for an accompanying documentary of the same name. You can watch a teaser here. To celebrate the release NEEDTOBREATHE will embark on a huge 38-date US arena tour in the autumn.
